Hi Ajay,

Hope you are keeping well.

Kindly follow the given instructions and share the results:

1. Try installing the Sentinel HASP/LDK Command line drivers version 7.60, here is the link to download the same :

After downloading the drivers and extracting it, Open the Command Prompt (CMD) with Admin Rights and browse to the drivers location.

a. Type in the following command:

haspdinst -purge

b. Then, type in command to install the drivers:

haspdinst -i

Note: You may need to temporarily disable the Antivirus if installed on machine. The same can be enabled again after the successful installation of Sentinel drivers.

Unpack it and start it by running it as Administrator. Then go in the menu and select Capture->Capture Kernel.
Share if you face any error message.

Looking forward for your response.

Thank You,
Gaurav Bhanot

Can't install Sentinel HL driver on Windows 10 1709 (Fall Creators Update)

I'm using a dongle provided by UL for EMV testing with Brand Test Toolkit. The drivers they include for the Sentinel HL were working fine on my old Windows 10 Anniversary Update install.

I got a new Windows install on a new SSD (same machine though). It's Windows 10 1709 Fall Creators Update. I cannot get the Sentinel HL to install so I can't run Brand Test Toolkit.

I tried the Sentinel Protection Installer 7.6.9 and System Driver 7.6.0 available from this site, with the same results. It shows as an "Other Device" in device manager.

Please see the screenshots below and hopefully Gemalto support can help get this working again.

Hi Chris,
Please note that "Sentinel Protection Installer 7.6.9" and "Sentinel System Driver 7.6.0" are packages only designed for the following hardware keys:

  • Sentinel Hardware Key
  • Sentinel Dual Hardware Key
  • Sentinel UltraPro Key
  • Sentinel SuperPro Key (including Sentinel HL in SuperPro configuration)

You seems to have a "Sentinel HL in HASP configuration", this USB dongle requires the following package to be installed :
https://supportportal.gemalto.com/csm/?id=kb_article&sys_id=bcec4a45dbc84fc4d298728dae961953

After installation of this package, the Sentinel HL Device Drivers will be associated with your USB dongle.

Regards,
Olivier

Thank you. Before I received this reply, I also sent a request for support to UL. They said that the runtime I installed from them should have installed the proper drivers, but that I could manually run "HASP SRM Runtime\HASPUserSetup.7.54.exe" to install. I did that and the drivers properly installed and I can use my dongle-requiring application.

Thanks.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your feedback,

When you have the HASPUserSetup.7.54.exe installed and you apply the "Fall Creator Update" afterwards, it will corrupt the installation of the HASP setup. In such event you have to run the HASP setup again.

In your case the  "Fall Creator Update" is already installed, so it should not be an issue.

This is resolved in HASPUserSetup 7.6.0 ( Link provided through last post update).

Olivier

Hi Ahmed,

For the mentioned query, please follow below implementation

Select the executable file that you want to license, and determine by which Feature ID the
file or function will be identified.

Select your protection method:
o Envelope-based automatic implementation
Protect the executable file using Sentinel LDK Envelope, specifying its Feature ID.
o API-based automatic implementation
In your code, insert a Sentinel Licensing API Login call to the Feature ID.

In Sentinel EMS:
a. Create a Product that includes the Feature ID, and define the license type as
Perpetual(or any other type you prefer).
b. Set the concurrency counter to the required maximum number of concurrent
licenses, and determine whether concurrent instances will be counted for each
station, each login or each process.

In future, it is requested to post your queries over the same Service Request which is open with our Support Engineer.

Thanks,
Heena
